IPTVMP Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-06-29
IPTVMP ("the app") is a personal, non-commercial IPTV client developed by Ricardo Branco. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it goes, and what choices you have.
Summary
- The developer does not run any servers and does not receive any of your data directly.
- All playlist credentials and channel data are stored locally on your device.
- The app sends usage events to Google Firebase Analytics to understand broad usage patterns.
- The app sends crash reports to Google Firebase Crashlytics to help diagnose bugs.
- When you use the Cast feature, the Google Cast SDK exchanges data with Google services to discover devices and relay playback.
What data the app handles
Stored on your device only
- IPTV provider URL, username, and password you enter (Xtream Codes or M3U).
- Channel lists, EPG (programme guide), favourites, and recently watched items downloaded from your provider.
- App preferences (theme, player settings, etc.).
This data never leaves your device through any code path written by the developer. If you uninstall the app, the data is deleted.
Sent to your IPTV provider
When you add a provider, the app contacts the provider's server using the credentials you entered. The provider sees your IP address, the app's User-Agent, and your activity within their service. This is the provider's data flow, not the developer's.
Sent to Google (Firebase Analytics)
- Anonymous, aggregated app events such as feature usage and screen visits.
- A randomly generated installation identifier (not linked to your name or email).
- Coarse device information (model, OS version, locale).
Google may retain this data for up to 14 months. See Google's Firebase Analytics privacy documentation for details.
Sent to Google (Firebase Crashlytics)
- Crash and non-fatal error reports including stack traces, device model, OS version, app version, and the few seconds of breadcrumbs (screen visits, key actions) leading up to the crash.
- A randomly generated Crashlytics installation identifier — not your name, email, IP, or any provider credentials.
- The developer uses this exclusively to diagnose bugs. No personal information from your IPTV provider settings is ever included in a crash report.
Sent to Google (Cast SDK), only when you cast
- The stream URL being cast and basic playback state, exchanged with the cast-target device through Google Cast services.
- This only happens while a casting session is active.
What data is NOT collected
- No name, email address, phone number, or login identifier (other than what you type into provider settings, which stays local).
- No location data.
- No contacts, photos, microphone, or camera access.
- No advertising identifiers, no ad networks, no ad SDKs.
- No data is sold or shared with any third party for marketing.
Permissions the app requests
- Internet — to contact your IPTV provider and Google services.
- Foreground service (mobile only, during playback) — to keep the player running while the app is in the background.
Children's privacy
IPTVMP is intended for users aged 18 and over. The app does not knowingly process data from children.
Your choices
- Opt out of analytics and crash reporting: uninstall the app. The app does not currently expose in-app toggles for analytics or crash reporting; if you would like them, email the address below.
- Delete all data: uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.
- Provider data: contact your IPTV provider directly for data they hold about you.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the app changes. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision. Significant changes will be announced in the app's release notes.
